Sign in to myMcGill web portal

You need to use your McGill Username (usually formatted as or and your McGill Password to sign in to myMcGill.

Students who have dual status (both student and staff McGill Usernames), can sign in using either of their McGill Usernames.

Note: Access to the myMcGill portal is limited to McGill faculty, staff, and active students, as described in the myMcGill (portal) service description.

To verify your McGill Username and create or change your McGill Password:

  1. Log in to Minerva using your 9-digit McGill ID and Minerva PIN.
  2. Go to the Personal Menu and click Password for McGill Username. You will see your McGill Username and Short Username.
  3. To change your password (or create one for the first time):
    1. Follow the onscreen instructions and enter a New Password that you will remember, but that will not be easy to guess.
    2. Re-enter the new password.
    3. Click Submit New Password.

If you are getting an invalid username and password error message, but already verified that you are using the correct McGill Username and password, try doing the following:

  1. Close your browser, then reopen it.
  2. Clear your browser's cache.
  3. Close your browser again, reopen it and try logging in to myMcGill again.
